Wilderness Adventures / Survival Skills

From a short day hike to a multi-day adventure, Project Ascent has the perfect outdoor itinerary for your group. Away from the office, these adventures provide opportunity to build relationships, communication, and trust. Basic survival skills, such as orienting yourself in the forest, keeping warm and comfortable, and creating safe shelter develop self-esteem and problem solving skills.

Wilderness Adventure Itineraries

Our outfitter will take care of every aspect of your trip. We provide all the equipment to make sure that your adventure is both comfortable and safe.

Some of our itineraries include:

  • Five days and four nights on the Appalachian trail. Traveling through the beautiful rolling hills of Pennsylvania and Maryland can be a breathtaking experience for a beginner or an experienced backpacker.
  • Exploring the canyons and hi-crested buttes of Zion National Park. We have created an itinerary that runs exceptionally smoothly and allows the client to explore and experience the vast national park in detail.
  • Our Albany New York trip allows larger groups to both have a backpacking experience as well as a caving experience. This trip incorporates state park camping, wilderness travel and wild cave exploration over a 3-day time frame.
  • Vermont is a beautiful state any time of year. The winter time is especially stunning. Snowshoeing from cabin to cabin is an exhilarating way to enjoy a winter adventure. Nothing beats sipping hot cocoa around a wood burning stove at the end of a hard day's hike.
